Larian could return to Baldur’s Gate 3 in new series by Dark Horse and Wizards of the Coast

Just when everyone thought that Larian Studios had left behind Baldur’s Gate 3 to focus on the new game in the Divinity series, the Belgian studio is once again associated with its Game of the Year-winning RPG. On July 23, during San Diego Comic-Con, publisher Dark Horse announced an upcoming Baldur’s Gate 3 comic series.

What’s surprising is that the post on X stated “With @larianstudios and @Wizards,” teasing that the developer is once again involved with the property. While there is no confirmation of whether or how Larian is collaborating on this project, earlier that day, a post from studio chief Swen Vincke teased that something was brewing.

In response to a post from streamer WolfheartRPS, who was celebrating the three year anniversary of Baldur’s Gate 3‘s release, Vincke wrote that he “couldn’t have timed this better.” While most fans assumed this was teasing upcoming news about Divinity, the game the studio is currently developing, Vincke could have instead been referring to the Dark Horse comic that would be announced later that day.

It’s no secret that the demand for more Baldur’s Gate 3 content hasn’t dwindled at all. The game remains extremely popular three years after its release, and the news that Larian would not be working on a sequel disheartened many fans (even if excitement about Divinity is just as high). Still, Wizards of the Coast, the publisher of Dungeon & Dragons and owner of the Baldur’s Gate IP, has no plans to stop banking on the popularity of the game and its characters. The announced D&D HBO series will be a sequel of sorts to the game, while the comic book could also continue that story or expand it in other ways. Focusing on the past of the seven origin characters, for example, could be a nice way to add depth to the lore before the HBO series picks up the story.

It remains to be seen if and how Larian is involved with Dark Horse’s new comic series. Perhaps some of the writers who worked on the game will pen the story of this new series, or they’ll just act as consultants. Regardless, this is great news. Larian surely won’t be working on a sequel game to Baldur’s Gate 3, and Wizards recently canceled a planned D&D game from Giant Skull studios. So while we wait for Divinity or for the unconfirmed remake of one of the first Baldur’s Gate games, we can at least watch Karlach decapitate foes in comic book form.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
